It is the district that has the largest amount of antiquarians and jewelry stores and imported cars agencies. Industry in Copacabana means manufactures. From over 1100 industries, 840 makes shoes and clothes.

According to the data of the Department of Public Security the number of attacks is decreasing about 34% in the 2nd semester of 2003. From January to June 2003 they were 196 cases and 130 from July to December. This decreasing is even greater since 2002: from August to December happened 202 attacks and107 at the same time in 2003 ( decrease of 47%). The car theft decreased from 35 to 18 cars.
The climate of Copacabana is stable with sun more than 300 days of the year and few rains, mainly at the beginning and at the end of the summer (November, December and March) and the temperature is fresh around 28º C.
